ToothPics

Client-side isosurface rendering

ToothPics is a distributed visualization tool for a viewing volumetric data that is hosted on a remote server while the user is interacting with inexpensive polygonal models on a local client machine. This has been developed by the AVL in association with the IU School of Dentistry.

Using CGI scripting methods, ToothPics runs over a standard WWW connection. The client is implemented as a standalone application for low-end PCs running Windows. The current server configuration (also running Windows) utilizes a VolumePro 1000 board for fast, stunning renderings.

As ToothPics has been extremely popular among the IU community, this is a continuing effort at the lab. To schedule a demo or discuss the application, please contact one of the research staff.
